Coming Home from the Camino

21:30 - Finally home - I walk in the door - Tracy, Ella, Jack and Charlie have a bottle of champagne ready and have put a lot of love and talent into a welcome home poster:

17:05 - At the airport - rocking sandals with socks - met up with Tim from Canada and Bastian.

13:40 - Headed to the Cathedral and as with the Camino, you always bump into fellow pilgrims - it is always delightful to do so.

Bill and Lesley - Bill is 72 years old, they have walked over 800km of the Camino (they are certainly faster than I am on the path) - they have been a rock and inspiration to everyone.

11:46 - Tattoo obtained! I opted for a simple shell on my inner arm.

09:30 - Despite to 02:30 bedtime, I was up at 8am and packing. It was a teary night last night - saying goodbye to very special people. It is extraordinary how people you meet intermitantly over 14 days become a Camino family (I think you only get this is you walk the Camino).

I have a 18:10 flight to Gatwick, so will be packing and then heading into the centre to take in the sights (yesterday was shocking heavy rain) and meet up with those I have not seen come in yet.

I have been reflecting on getting a tattoo to remind me of the Camino - To be clear, this is not a mid-life crisis thing - it is to remind me of the following - give yourself time to think about things, so you can make good decisions - no matter what the outcome, it is a decision you don't regret - I am proud of completing the Leon to Santiago Camino - its been physically and mentally challenging - most of all - the head space - its easy to get bogged down with stuff in everyday life - the Camino provides the perfect environment to reflect and better yourself.
