22:16 - please see a selection of the pictures I took today in this short movie - simply stunning views around every corner and hedgerow.
20:52 - I am checked into a private room with a double bed and it’s own bathroom!!! €30 special negotiation - my new American friends helped me out big time.
16:29 - finished the Camino for today - 25.1km - feeling good - the last part was very up and down slopes - but the views were well worth it.
14:12. I took the longer route to be in the countryside more - wow what a treat a new incredibly beautiful scene every turn.
13:30 - sharp walk out of the village and into the vineyards - views change and are stunning all the time.
12:30 - nice lunch with some new friends from USA (Liz) Sweden (Hartkin) and Greece.
10:55 - met Joseph - he was a stone Masson now carved wood on the Camino - I bought this in cherry wood.
10:40am - my favourite fruit - great views after coming out of the suburbs.
09:30am - coffee in Fuentes Nuevas. Met Christine from Boston.
8:56am Good first 4 miles - good to get out of the city and I y country again..
I over did it yesterday! I learned a lesson - stop and enjoy more: I was focused on getting to Ponferrada a - I did it - but it meant I was too tired to enjoy the town - I tried to( but was just exhausted - I was in bed by 8:45 and asleep very shortly after that!
Yesterdays descent of 1000m was really hard going - the terrain really challenging and I wish I had stopped at molinaseca - anyway, I am going to learn from this.
Today is flat going - so 25km to Villafranca will not be as challenging as yesterday - but if I don’t get there because of enjoying the villages between so be it. I Is not meant to be March after all.
So day 6 is here!
After the ritual of applying plasters and Vaseline and carefully putting in your socks and Shoes, testing for rubs, taking off your socks and shoes and adjusting - comes breakfast!
